664 Pointsmysql workbench and mamp 5.6.21 mySQL
I am running 5.6.21 (installed with Xampp mamp) From mySQL website: MySQL Installer Supports Existing Installations You can also download and run the MySQL Installer if you already have MySQL products installed on your system. These will be automatically detected and supported during the installation and update procedures.
I downloaded the installer for mySQL clients to install workbench, it SEEMED to, except that when it got to the point where it wanted to go over Samples and Examples
it said :
No Compatible servers were found. You'll need to cancel this wizard and install once.
However, I have XAMPP/MAMP installed as directed in an earlier video, and MySQL is running, and I have verified that the sample webpage that uses it is running. . (Note: I did have to install Apache on port 8080 cuz it would not install on 80), so I access my admin for SQL at http://localhost:8080/phpmyadmin
Why doesn't mySQL installer see, and how can I make it see MySQL.
