My split () assignment in Python

My assignment is to split the string at the semi colon and reassign to sundaes. I keep getting a Syntax error. Help. I am new and frustrated but so want to learn. it's such a simple thing but I can't get it. :-(

available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white" sundaes ="banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white".split(;)

banana.py
available = "banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white"
sundaes ="banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white".split(;)

Put the semicolon in quotes:

sundaes ="banana split;hot fudge;cherry;malted;black and white".split(";")

Thank you so much! I hate that I keep doing such dumb things. it wastes time...winning code was... sundaes=available.split(";")
