Courses Plus Student 184 Pointsmy computer is horrible for writing code. Even the most basic stuff. Not sure what laptop would be right for me.
ive got up to 900 to spend. does anyone have any insight as to what laptop would be the best for the android app design done in the treehouse program. I will buy a better computer later on but for now I need one good enough to get through this training and to play around with what ive learned when finished.

Really reading code is what a computer does, so you don't need anything with a lot of bells and whistles to get that done, however in regards to android app development, that's another story. All of the android apps are going to run in what is called a virtual environment, this unfortunately takes a lot of ram, so you might want something that has more than 4, 8 would be nice if you want to run android virtual environments (and you must for android development).
With that being said Lenovo has been solid for years, they jsut had a scare with problems of software being preinstalled on it that led to alot of pop ups and advertisements, but that has been taken care of.
Really, looking at something like G50 series will do you just fine, like this one
Keep in mind Lenovo's generally don't have backlit keyboards, unless you go with the y40's or 50's and these are also meant as gaming laptops.
Dell also has some excellent Inspiron 15's like this one
