Just a note that you do not go over the git fetch command in any of the videos or I missed which video it was in.

Treehouse Project ReviewerHi David Good! I know this post is rather old now and you've probably found the information you are looking for, but I thought I'd still leave an answer for anyone new who maybe unsure too. If you are looking for coverage on the git fetch
command I suggest you take a look at the Git Branches and Merging Courses course instead. This course is just cover GitHub itself, and some git commands will not be covered in the videos. The teachers may be using git pull
(which does a git fetch
as a shortcut as well as pull). It is mentioned as an answer to one of the quizzes at least but the general principle of the command is to allow you to see if there are any changes and potentially review them before you consider pulling the changes.
