I am trying to figure out the best approach to convert a legacy character app to either a windows desktop app or more ideally a web based app. I would like to start with refactoring a small module (or even a piece of a module) within the legacy app for POC and then proceed from there.
Current legacy app is running on Linux (CentOS) and is accesses via character telnet sessions. Think SmartTerm, PowerTerm, etc.
So what I want to be able to do is refactor back end business logic (some are black boxed and some not so much) into services that I can leverage from a web application.
Can someone point me to a good starting point with good examples and use cases?
