35,800 PointsThe @media rule is used to define different style rules for different media types/devices.
Media queries look at the size of the screen or device.
A few examples of how they could be used:
Say you want to hide a sidebar on mobile. You could do a media query that only shows the sidebar on screen sizes larger than 760px for example. That way it will not show on mobile devices. You could do the opposite and show stuff on certain sizes as well.
