MAMP won't install on my mac (running OS X 10.10.3). Is there another similar application I can use instead?

I've tried multiple times to install MAMP 3.2.1, however, it keeps giving me a critical error message.

I know that MAMP is preferred, but is there a similar application I can use instead?

Can you post the details of the critical error you are receiving? Perhaps we can diagnose it.

An alternative to MAMP with very similar features is XAMPP.

Or, you could take the deep dive into one of developers' hottest tools: Vagrant. Given your tags, I assume you're using the LAMP stack for Wordpress development. So if you want to try Vagrant, DigitalOcean has a very thorough guide on how and why to use Vagrant for Wordpress development.

Thank you for your response and the recommendations. Unfortunately, I closed out the critical error and it hasn't popped up again (but I still can't install MAMP). I will take a look at those applications.
