5,232 PointsLooking for feedback on my first website.
Hey everyone. I put up this website and haven't had experience in the last few years with coding. I would appreciate any feedback on how I can make the site better or what you think of the site. fwlbc.com
Thanks!

Python Development Techdegree Student 587 PointsMy immediate impressions:
-The colors are really washed out. I'd use darker colors for the text to make it stand out more. -The image of the books also looks a little washed out to me. The site is blank and clean, but then there's a sepia looking picture in the middle. It looks a little out of place, so I'd use a less filtered, cleaner looking pic, so the page has a unified look. -There's a typo on the first page "We Are All Completely Beside Oursevles " -On mobile, the FWLBC at the top has a lot of white space below it. If that could be eliminated, I think it'd look better, and you could see more when you first open the page. -Having only "FWLBC" on the front page makes sense to someone who knows the group already. For someone just finding the site, they won't know what that means or what exactly the site is for. Might be better to put the full name?
Those are just my first thoughts when opening up the page! My biggest advice would be to make it look more modern, because the simplicity makes it look kinda dated.
Overall, I think it gives all the info someone would be wanting from the site. The addition of the Google calendar on the site itself is really nice.

5,051 PointsI agree with most of the previous comments, especially about choosing bolder font colors and putting the words "Fort Worth Literary Book Club" on the home page. One other nice addition would be on the Past Reads page to add Amazon links for each of the past books, but that may not be necessary.
With respect to the sepia toned photo on the home page, I think I may get the meaning you're trying to convey. Some of these books may be older or classics, and the photo suggests the books are old and have been read, perhaps many times. On the other hand, it's a little depressing and old-fashioned looking, and may deter someone younger potential book club members. I can almost smell the musty, mildew scent of an attic full of old books while looking at that photo. Frankly, it looks like an argument in favor of reading on a Kindle. The photo on your Facebook group page is better, or at least brighter.
Otherwise, great looking and well organized site. I also love the calendar!

5,232 PointsOh man, I am going to have to hunt for a new photo. I honestly didn't think that was the impression it was giving out. It's also funny because most everyone in the book club is under forty. I may have to change it to a picture of all of us on Zoom.

Front End Web Development Techdegree Student 10,702 PointsI really like the site! A photo of everyone on zoom would be nice. I always feel better about meetup groups when they have photos of the group. Your site is way ahead of every other group/club thing I can think of though!

5,232 PointsThank you so much for this! I truly didn't realize that it looked so dated. I am definitely going to change it so that Fort Worth Literary Book Club is written out. I am going to be working on these in the next couple of weeks. I really appreciate your input because (aside from the typo), I would not have seen these.
