I started with a folder and put in logos I found that I loved. It gave me a feel of what worked and didn't work. Colours, fonts, simple images etc.
Also checking out the best dribblers and looking at their sites for inspiration.
Your avatar looks almost Lego like. Lego is hot right now. That would be an amazing beginning.
Don't over think. Be simple. ... hope this helps:)

16,007 PointsThere's a lot of direction you could go with such a general idea. Have you tried going through some of the steps in the Logo Design course here in Treehouse? There is a lot of good direction in the Logo Sprint courses.

16,007 PointsWell, a logo can be difficult and sometimes we get a creative block. At least you know of 30 ideas you don't like now. :-)
Sometimes it helps me to just stop thinking about it for awhile. Inspiration comes at the oddest times.

I have found it is helpful for me to make a list of words that describe what you want to convey with your logo. You can refer to it as needed when you are doing sketches.
As for sketches, do a sprint of them every once in a while - spend a minute or so on each, then move on. When you get stuck, flip back to your references, your word list, and things you have done so far and try to re-imagine them. Work on it for a little while, then put it down and come back to it later.
It is pretty common for graphic designers to do 100+ quick sketches before they get something they like, just keep at it.
