i cant remove red i tried everything, i tried recreating 'states' and failed. could you show me how it was created as well? help

Hey!

You were close, but the challenge asks you to remove the second item in the list. In the code above, you're refrencing a list with the single item 'red' in it. The correct way to remove the second item here is:

states = [
    'ACTIVE',
    ['red', 'green', 'blue'],
    'CANCELLED',
    'FINISHED',
    5,
]
states.remove(5)
states.remove(['red', 'green', 'blue'])

The .remove in your code is looking for a list in states that has only the item 'red' in it, you must state the entire value of the item to get .remove to find, and remove it!
