Everytime I submit this code, it's saying that I need to add a list item w the word Portfolio in it.

19,650 PointsHey shayne. The challenge wants us to link the list items. Therefore, we must put the "<li>" tags inside the "<a>" tags. Also, you misplaced the unordered "<ul>" list tags. We need those items inside of it. Try this code for the nav:

<a href="about.html"><li>About</li></a>
<a href="contact.html"><li>Contact</li></a>
</ul>
</nav>
