In User.java, add private fields to store firstName and lastName, and initialize them in the provided constructor. Add public getters for firstName and lastName.
Please correct me
public class Forum {
private String topic;
// TODO: add a constructor that accepts a topic and sets the private field topic
public Forum(String topic )
{
topic="";
}
public String getTopic() {
return topic;
}
/* Uncomment this when you are prompted to do so
public void addPost(ForumPost post) {
System.out.printf("A new post in %s topic from %s %s about %s is available",
topic,
post.getAuthor().getFirstName(),
post.getAuthor().getLastName(),
post.getTitle()
);
}

10,359 Pointshi Sachini Hansini Nawalaella , lets start with
1st task that says
Add a constructor that accepts a String named topic to Forum.java. Initialize the private field topic in the constructor to the value passed in.
- Add a constructor that accepts a String named topic to Forum.java.
public Forum(String topic) {
2.Initialize the private field topic in the constructor to the value passed in.
this.topic = topic;
Notice , this.topic it will refer to private String topic; , and the second topic it will refer to (String topic) in the constructor
2nd task says
In User.java, add private fields to store firstName and lastName, and initialize them in the provided constructor. Add public getters for firstName and lastName.

14,864 PointsI think that you had called the fields with a capital letter which is a convention for class names. Try to do it that way:
public class User {
private String firstName;
private String lastName;
public User(String firstName, String lastName) {
this.firstName = firstName;
this.lastName = lastName;
}
public String getterFirstName() {
return this.firstName;
}
public String getterLastName() {
return this.lastName;
}
}

996 PointsThis is great. I like to try to figure things out on my own, but after some time, I would like to know what I was missing if I can't figure it out. I then look and study the code that I was missing to make sure I have a good grasp on it. I noticed in the above code that your getter methods did not follow what was asked. Minor change is needed. The
//Notice the method name get not "getter". public String getFirstName() { return this.firstName; }
public String getLastName() { return this.lastName; } }
