Landscape device and < meta name="viewport" >

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"> Will this work when a device is switched to landscape because the devices width doesn't change?

When a device is in landscape mode, it's width is equal to it's longest edge. When it's in portrait, the width would be it's shortest edge. So the width is just the horizontal length, and is different depending on orientation.

Will it dynamically adjust this as you rotate between the two or does it depend how you have it oriented on page load?
