Landed my first job

Hey there! Right now I'm not an active member of Treehouse, and haven't been for some time, but I still wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation.

Today I got my first job as a fullstack web developer. I started this journey around 2017, with Nick Pettit's Intro course. There's been some rough moments, ups and downs, mainly from doubting myself and thinking I was too old to quit my old job and make such a drastic career change at my thirties.

But eventually I found the courage to put me out there and it DID happen, and I'm sure the future is brighter than ever. I've taken other classes as well, both online and in person, and something that always stood me apart was knowing the bases, the core concepts about programming and why that particular line of code was behaving in that particular way.

I owe that to the Treehouse teachers, specially Guil Hernandez and Dave McFarland. And Steven Parker always there answering everyone. Knowing how to do things in plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JS, not needing to jump right into the frameworks, and knowing how things work behind the scenes, was something my peers, other teachers and now my employers always recognized.

So thanks for everything!! :)

:+1: Congratulations on your success, and it was heartwarming to learn that I helped. And it's an honor to be named alongside the same great teachers I have also learned from.

The very best wishes to you in all your future endeavors!

Congratulations on your success, Also I wanted to ask you a few things if that's okay (Being a newbie your story is inspiring to me).

1) You talked about standing apart from most people because of the knowledge of the strong fundamentals of programming, Could you please share what steps, methods or techniques you went through to get a strong grasp of basics, and how it better made you understand.

2) When starting to learn to code, did you start from scratch or you had some background in coding.

3) Being busy with your old job, how consistent were you in learning to code, I mean how many hours will you give in a day or week to learn to code.

4) How many years did you spend from writing your first line of code to landing a job as a full-stack web developer?

I would be really thankful for your response.

Also good luck with your future endeavors.
