Keeping track of a users score

I'm trying to figure out a way to keep track of a user's score. For example if you answer a question correctly it adds to the score and if you get an answer wrong it subtracts from the score. I'll post my code if I figure it out.

Just create a variable and adjust it based on whether the answer is correct. Something like:

let userScore = 0;
if (correct) userScore++;
else userScore--;
