11,361 PointsJob listings Front End vs. Full Stack
While going through the Front end developer track I have occasionally looked at job listings to get an idea of what people are looking for. I have noticed two things:
Apparently 6 years of experience is somehow still Entry level. As every listing is asking for an immense amount of experience for just an Entry Level position.
There has been a lot of requests for Front end to know server side languages. So my questions is more so this: Where is the divide between a Front End Web Dev and a Full Stack Dev? If I am supposed to know 2 or 3 server side languages then why are they bothering to ask for only a Front End Dev when what they appear to want is a Full Stack Dev?
I can understand if it's just to communicate better with the back end. But where is that divide? Where do I go from knowing so much Server side languages that I am just a Full Stack Dev?
Thank you for your time.

ALWAYS remember this
Job descriptions that companies put out are ALWAYS wish lists.
For instance you mention seeing jobs asking for 2 or 3 server side languages. No company is actually expecting someone to have all of that. But if you know even one you are good to go. Reason being companies then know that since you have learned one language, you can easily pick up another one.
Don't let job descriptions stop you from applying. Apply anyhow.

11,361 PointsThank you, for the reply jrs0801. This definitely does help. Looking through these job descriptions can be hard as I find that most of the time, even entry level positions seem to ask for more than I think I can do.
