I've researched this issue in the forums. And after applying solutions I found and reloading the repl I continue to get this error, please assist.
My game file...
public class Game {
private String mAnswer;
private String mHits;
private String mMisses;
public Game(String answer) {
mAnswer = answer;
mHits = "";
mMisses = "":
}
public boolean applyGuess(char letter) {
boolean isHit = mAnswer.indexOf(letter) >= 0;
if (isHit) {
mHits += letter;
}
else {
mMisses +=letter;
}
return isHit;
}
}
My prompter file...
public class Prompter {
}
And my hangman file...
public class Hangman {
public static void main(String[] args) {
// Enter amazing code here:
Game game = new Game("treehouse");
}
}

1,716 Pointsyou are missing a space here "mMisses +=letter;"
should be a space after the equals sign. not sure if that is the culprit of your problem, but i don't see anything else wrong with your code. give that a shot.

9,453 PointsSteve and Amanda I thank you both! I tried compiling it and the repl caught the error...
mMisses = "":
I've got to train my eye to catch those colons that should be semi colons! No the 1st time I've made that goof!

57,712 PointsCan you post the whole error - it should lead to a line of code; which line is that?
Should
Prompter
be empty?Steve.
