i am getting an error that nothing is returned in the code

Courses Plus Student 15,510 PointsHey ... you were really close but you're not returning a value from within the 'if' when true (just assigning it to a var. And it also for some reason is insisting you use bracket notation
Try something like:
const player1 = {
name: 'Ashley',
color: 'purple',
isTurn: true,
play: function(){
// write code here.
if (this.isTurn) {
/* return the requested string and use bracket notation */
return this['name'] + ' is now playing!';
};
}
}
