I'd like to pivot from my current graphic design job into a game/web/app design and development position. My Current employer will cover the cost of education if it pertains to my current "Marketing/site admin" position.
I really want to take the Android app dev course, but don't think they would cover it. The next best thing would be the Java web dev tech degree, but I want to be sure of what I'll walk away with.
If I take the Java web dev tech degree course, will I be able to build them a new interactive website? It sounds like full stack javascript would be better for that, but I really want to get Java experience. I'd like to kill two bird with one stone here: Make them a new site and position myself to develop in Java in the future.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any insight!

Their current site was built with an old version of the Sitefinity CMS. I'd like to include simple CMS features in their new site so employees can post news updates and documents, if possible.
Apart from that, the site is pretty simple (EasyParkAlaska.com).
I've used sites like Webflow (ACDA.net) and Wix, But I'd like to give them something custom and novel.

You definitely will pick up the right Java skills to produce a dynamic website...and enough to squeak in Android courses. What is the current site written in that you would need to "admin"?
