It won't let me continue putting this code

This is the code for the exercise and i think this is bugged

GoKart.java
class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String color;
  private int barCount;
    private int lapsDriven;
  public GoKart(String color) {
    this.color = color;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return color;
  }

  public void charge() {
    barCount = MAX_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return barCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    return MAX_BARS == barCount;
  }

  public void drive(){
    lapsDriven += 1;
  }
}

Hi how ur doing?

lets solve this with 3 steps:

1.First we are asked to delcare a private variable called lapsDriven

private int lapsDriven;

2.Second we are asked to declare a public method called drive which will be used in order to increase the lapsDriven variable, u were asked to use the shorthand to increase the variable, ur answer is correct but the complier **wants u to use (++) instead (+=) which in fact 2 of them are valid:

public void drive()
{
lapsDriven++;
}

3.in the end u asked to substract one barCount after each lap u drive and u need to use the shorthand for that as well:

public void drive()
{
lapsDriven++;
barCount--;
}

I hope u understand that :}

ok thank you ! i was using lapsDriven +=

both are valid like i said, they just forcing u to use ++ shorthand instead
