Issue with a 'I've made a function that creates brand new product names using "artificial intelligence".'

At first I thought it was try/else but then (see below) I tried if/else, but that didn't work. Help is appreciated!

suggestinator.py
product_idea = input('Give us a name: ')

def suggest(product_idea):
    try:
        if len(product_idea) <= 3:
            raise ValueError('This is too short!')
        else:
            return product_idea + "inator"

You've done a bit too much and are probably confusing the check mechanism:

  • the instructions don't ask for any code to "input" anything
  • you won't need a "try" for this challenge
  • the error should occur when product_idea is less than 3 characters (not "less than or equals")

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I got it : )
