Courses Plus Student 102 PointsIs this the best way to learn to become a full time web designer/app developer?
So i'm just wondering if this is the best way to go about getting into a web designing career? I don't really wanna waste time or money if this doesn't really help you get to a level of understanding, to start a career in web designing. Just trying to get a general opinion of the community.

I like Treehouse because it's a great way for me to learn / experiment with different technologies - complete a course and then play around with what I just learned from that course :-)

I agree 100% with Henrik, it really depends on how you like to learn.
For me, Treehouse enabled me to start a career as a Web Developer.

20,364 PointsI fully agree 100% (even if that's redundant) :) with all what's been said.
For me, I still feel like I am giving my initial steps in this huge world, where the limits of how far you go, are only set by yourself. When I started around an year ago, I had no idea of anything web-related (well, except for searching in Google, maybe) :) and I think I've made some reasonable progress in this time. I'm not quite there yet (by a long mile!!), but I feel like things that seemed daunting and absolutely foreign to me are little by little becoming second nature. And it's all thanks to Treehouse.
However, having said that, something that I think is really important to consider is this: there are amazing instructors with crystal clear explanations and a very unique community here, but those are only your tools. It's YOU who make the difference.
I've seen a lot of people come and go expecting this to be a "modern" school/college, where you go, sit down, look at the teacher, and at the end of the course, get a diploma (although you don't really know nothing new), and you go home all happy and start your hunt for a job. Doesn't work like that here. Or at least you probably won't get the best out of it.
Although, maybe that's as much a life principle, getting by and going along life, or embracing it fully.
However, If you are willing to put in the effort and the hard work, and little by little you get used to that feeling of frustration when you can't wrap your head around smth at first, and to overcome that with persistence, then this is the perfect tool for you. I can tell you from my experience. Nothing else has ever worked like this to me.
A great tool that has helped me also is how organized things are here in the tracks page. That can be a great tool if used properly. And of course the filters in the library are also really helpful.
Looking forward to having you as a community-mate and helping each other!!
