Is this course about utilizing Terminal in OS X Yosemite by learning shell commands?

Will I learn how to use the Terminal application on my macbook pro?

Yes. The course is taught on a linux based machine but since Mac OS X (Darwin) is a POSIX complaint operating system, so you can apply most of these commands to the Mac OS X terminal.

Go to Applications -> System -> Terminal to open your terminal.
