Is there any 3d modeling and/or texturing software that is free and easy to use for beginners? I am just learning and wondering if there is any way I can create 3d art and textures without paying for expensive software or using trials. Please help!

,514 PointsI would also check out Blender. Blender has been around for awhile now and it is free. Additionally, you can find a lot of training on Blender (check out PluralSight).

,328 PointsI'm sorry for asking another question, but by any chance do you know if SketchUp can create textures? I see it can create models but I don't see if it can create textures. By any chance would you know?

,867 Points3D Modelling Software sometimes have additional "Features" that enable you to create some basic textures. But usually you create textures with external software. It depends really on what you are using. I for instance use Cinema4D on a Mac and it has a Feature for texturizing, but unfortunately Cinema4D is not free. If you use Windows you could have a look at 3DS or Maya. 3DS is free if iยดm not wrong. But most 3D Software Companies offer free trail periods or free educational versions of their Software. I hope this helps at least a little bit.

,357 PointsIf you look at the student perks link at the bottom of the page you can get a 3 year license for Maya LT through treehouse. Or you can just go to Autodesk's site and get an educational version of Maya, which is fully functional just not licensed to do commercial/professional work with. There's a learning curve but plenty of resources, some here on Treehouse and many others elsewhere online.
