Is there a way to restrict a method parameter to a type. Example restrict all parameters to type int or type string?

Example

def numbers(a, type=int) return a +b end

verse doing creating my own method to verify weather the parameter is an int and then puts to the user if not an int.

I don't believe you can. I believe it will raise an error anyways if the parameter does not support the operation you want to carry out with it later
