17,148 PointsIs there a reasoable need to use grid system with flexbox? Or is it one or the other?
I have been looking at flexbox as the the first thing to use when looking to create layouts of pages. But should I be thinking about grid systems with implementing flexbox? I can only guess using modernizr for IE as fallback using grids and floats when flexbox doesn't work.

There are gridsystems based on flexbox: http://flexboxgrid.com/
If you use a tool like Autoprefixer, you can get IE support through IE10. You can use modernizr to detect for Flexbox support as on solution, you could also load a conditional style sheet to only load on IE9 and older with a float based grid.
