6,654 PointsIs the "init" method similar to a "constructor" in other programming languages?
Does the "init" method have the same (if not exact) functionality as a constructor would for other languages such as c++?
I am assuming "init" will come up again when writing classes, but can "init" methods only be used for initialization in Structs and Classes only? Can we use an "init" methods inside functions, control flow statements, etc.?

Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 30,124 PointsInit methods in Swift act just like constructors in other languages such as Java (I'm not familiar with C++) and as far as I know, you can only include init methods on the class itself and not inside function ect. Hope this helps.
