Is the #escape method now obsolete?

I noticed that Ruby 2.6 Documentation (https://docs.ruby-lang.org/en/2.6.0/URI/Escape.html) states: "This method is obsolete and should not be used. Instead, use CGI.escape, URI.encode_www_form or URI.encode_www_form_component depending on your specific use case."

Would you use #encode_www_form method now instead?
