i see conversations on this from 2014 and still nothing has been implemented. it would be great to have a nice way to share badges for whole courses. e.g i complete the whole front end course and i have no badge to share .

If you finish a Techdegree you earn a certificate that you can use on LinkedIn. And while that is awesome, what most employers look at are the projects you have done.
If you finish a course, create something with what you have learned, that will do the job better than a linked badge. :)

Front End Web Development Techdegree Graduate 56,488 PointsTo complete a course you don't have to do anything, you could just watch them and then be done with it, nothing learned. A certificate for that is dangerous as they would be easy to get. If a certificate is easy to get the value of it could also go down. Don't get me wrong, the courses are great and if you apply what you learn they will teach you everything you need to be able to land a job.
The Techdegrees are really hard, there are projects and a final exam, and collaboration with other students. The certificate was nice and all, but what I gained from the Techdegree itself was the most important part. The certificate was more of a "Yes, he completed it" part (even though I am extremely proud of that certificate), while the projects and skills learned were what got me employed.
You obviously don't have to agree with me, this is just my opinion on the subject and far from the only perspective. :)
