Courses Plus Student 2,494 PointsIs it best to first learn about "terminals" before I continue with these Java lessons?
I want to learn how to build android apps and started with the "build a simple android app" course but later decided it was probably best to learn java code independently first. Once I started this course I heard the instructor mention that if we wanted to learn more about "terminals" then there was a link we could follow... not quite sure if its necessary to familiarize myself with that first or continue

Treehouse TeacherI wouldn't worry too much about it. If you finding yourself interested in the console, check it out, but I go over everything you need to know.
Hope it helps!

6,882 PointsOn your quest to become a developer, learning how to use the command line in a terminal is essential. I suggest the sooner the better! Once you are using the terminal, a whole new world will be open to you. Things like git, doing your own compiling, or changing your computer environment!
Maybe you could learn both at the same time?
