266 PointsIs a £ symbol equivalent to a # symbol when coding?
My MacBook Pro does not have # key on it (don't ask!), can I use the £ symbol for the same effect, i.e. for a div id tag? If not, do you know what symbol can be used as an equivalent, as I would prefer to use a keyboard shortcut rather than a copy/paste image.

266 PointsNever had one to begin with, the good people at Apple obviously overlooked this. Although, given the massive advantages the machine has given me over one which may have had the key, I can't complain too much!

18,814 PointsAs far as I know, you will not be able to use any symbol other than # for id tags in html. Sorry!
EDIT On my keyboard Option-# gives me the £ symbol. Maybe Option-£ will give you the # symbol?

32,861 PointsDid this work Ben Brenton ? The only other solution I can think of is to get a usb/bluetooth keyboard, which is obviously not ideal.

266 Pointsrydavim,
This did help, thank you very much. For anyone else who asks, alt-3 will give you a # symbol instead of £.
Ben.
