1,211 PointsIntro Lists Task#2 How do you only print continents that begin with the letter "A"
I am having trouble trying to figure out how to specifically print out certain words with certain letters out of a list.
continents = [
'Asia',
'South America',
'North America',
'Africa',
'Europe',
'Antarctica',
'Australia',
]
# Your code here
print("Continents:")
for continent in continents:
print("* " + continent)

Treehouse TeacherHi there, Nicholas Mejia! Just like you can get an element from a list using an index, you can also do the same thing with a string. For example:
student_name = "Nicholas"
print(student_name[0])
This would output:
N
Because "N" is the first letter of "Nicholas"
What you want to do is check:
if continent[0] == "A":
And then indent the print()
statement you currently have inside that if
statement. That way only continents that have the first letter of "A" will be printed.
Hope this helps!
