interpolation

I do not understand why we use interpolation in rangers.

for number in 1...10 { print ("(number)times 5 is equal to (number*5)") }

1 Answer

It makes it a whole lot cleaner than concatenation when you need to put an Int into a String.

for number in 1...10 {
    print ("\(number) times 5 is equal to \(number*5)")
}

for number in 1...10 {
    let num = String(number)
    let total = String(number * 5)
    let string = " times 5 is equal to "
    print (num + string + total)
}
