Do I need to install Linux on my Mac in order to follow along with the Building Software From Source video?

You should be able to do this just be launching the console that is usually where the "Launch Workspace" button is! Once you are there you should be able to follow along.

13,564 PointsNo problem! I completed the whole section just using the Treehouse Console so you won't need to install Linux unless you feel like you want to.
