If you take a look, you're instructed to add the nav element below the anchor link inside of the header. You'll also want to make sure that you close your nav element and unordered list.
<header>
<a href="index.html">
<h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
<h2>Designer</h2>
</a>
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
<li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
<li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
</header>

You can't link an entire list this way. Underneath
<header>
remove
<a href="index.html">
and above
</header>
remove
Also there is no closing ul tag:
</ul>
Hope this helps, if not let me know.
