The if/else
statement should not be indented. In Python, indentation is use to place a piece of code inside of another block. For example, the line store_open = True
is indented and is inside the if
.
The way you have it now, the compiler is complaining because the indents place the if/else
block inside a list, which is not correct. So, all you need to do is shift the entire block back to the same indentation as the other lines.
time = 15
store_open = None
store_hours = [9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18]
if time in store_hours:
store_open = True
else:
store_open = False
