Java Java Objects (Retired) Harnessing the Power of Objects Incrementing

Increment - Objective 1

Hi,

I'm stock with this exercise, I'm not sure where to put the while loop. Please help.

Thanks, Lawrence

GoKart.java
public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_ENERGY_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mColor = color;
    mBarsCount = 0;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return mColor;
  }

  public void charge() {
    mBarsCount = MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
  }

  public boolean isBatteryEmpty() {
    return mBarsCount == 0;
  }

  public boolean isFullyCharged() {
    boolean wasFullyCharged = true;
    if(!isFullyCharged()) {
    mBarsCount++;
      wasFullyCharged = false;
    }
    while(isBatteryEmpty()) {
      System.out.println("Getting charged!");
    }
    return mBarsCount == MAX_ENERGY_BARS;
  }

}

Hello Lawrence,

I will post a hint for the location of where the loop should go and I will post the answer. If you only want the position please ONLY look at the first code block in my answer. Otherwise, check the second one for the answer.

Position: The exercise is stating that the charge method should have the while loop placed in it with the updated isFullyCharged() method as the argument. Therefore:

  public void charge() {
    WHILE LOOP HERE!
  }

Answer: Just incase you get stuck again:

  public void charge() {
    while (!isFullyCharged()) {
          mBarsCount++;
      }
  }

DISCLAIMER: I might have the wrong variable names, but they should be close so just insert the right ones.

Hi Jackson,

Thank you very much for your help.

Sincerely, Lawrence
