I'm not sure why nav li { margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; } Doesn't work here.

I've also tried

nav li { margin: 0px 10px; }

and

nav li { margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 10px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-right: 0px; }

css/main.css
a {
  text-decoration: none;
}

#wrapper {
  max-width: 940px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

#logo {
  text-align: center;
  margin: 0;
}

h1, h2 {
  color: #fff;
}

nav a {
  color: #fff;
}

nav a:hover {
  color: #32673f;
}

nav li {
  margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px;
}

h1 {
  font-family: Changa One, sans-serif;
  font-size: 1.75em;
  font-weight: normal;
}

img {
  max-width: 100%;
}

#gallery {
  margin: 0;
  padding: 0;
  list-style: none;
}

#gallery li {
  float: left;
  width: 45%;
  margin: 2.5%;
  background-color: #f5f5f5;
  color: #bdc3c7;
}

You want to target the ul instead of the li.

nav ul {
  margin: 0 10px;
}

HI,

It depends how your HTML nesting looks like. But a <li></li> is 99% nested in a <ul></ul> .

In HTML you have to be careful with nesting. As you have written your CSS the HTML to go with it would be:

<nav>
    <li>line1</li>
</nav>

But in fact it's this:

<nav>
    <ul>
        <li>Line1</li>
    </ul>
</nav>

Did you try:

nav ul li {
    margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px;
}

/*shorthand for this margin*/

    margin: 0px 10px;
