CSS Sass Basics Getting Started with Sass Declare and Use Variables

Im not sure what Im doing incorrectly here

I feel like im doing it correctly. Can someone help me with this?

style.scss 
$color-brand: #6a5acd;

h1{
$color-brand: #6a5acd;
}

Hi Fernando!

You are declaring the variable correctly, but then you aren't really using it.

You want to set/assign the h1 color property to the variable.

LIke this:

$color-brand: #6a5acd; /*** Declare the variable ***/

h1{
  color: $color-brand; /*** Use the vasriable to set the color value ***/
}

Keep in mind that using variables this way makes updating your code so much easier. You can use the $color-brand variable for multiple color assignments, and then if you decide to change the color in your theme, you can just give the variable a new color and it will update everywhere it is used in your code.
