I'm getting this error when I try to open PezDispenser.java: "cannot assign a value to final variable characterName"

it points to this line: this.characterName = characterName;

are you passing (String characterName) in the constructor? are you declaring a private characterName variable?

Your variable is declared "final". A variable declared "final" can only be set once, and it's set in your constructor. Remove the "final" declaration and it should work fine.
