Courses Plus Student 2,775 PointsHey Vince,
The "rel" is an attribute that specifies the relationship between the current document and the linked document. So, with rel="stylesheet" you are letting your browser know that that linked item is a style sheet
Hope that helps =)

Courses Plus Student 29,439 PointsHi Vince,
rel is an attribute for certain HTML tags and it is used in order to specify the relationship between the current document and the linked document - in this case a CSS file. By giving this attribute the value stylesheet the browser will know that the document you are including is an actual stylesheet for this page.
You can find more about the rel attribute here: http://www.w3schools.com/TAgs/att_a_rel.asp
