Hello, an if statement would be formatted like follows:

if(condition to be met) {
 //results of met condition;
}

So this one would look like

if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) {
  console.printf("first is equal to the second");
}

Thanks. Let me know if this helps.

if (firstExample.equals(secondExample)) { //displayOutput console.printf("fist is equal to the second"); }

/*
in words:

define the variables.
If hello is equal to hello ignoring the case, then
say first is equal to second.

in code:
*/

String firstExample = "hello";
String secondExample = "hello";
String thirdExample = "HELLO";
if (firstExample.equalsIgnoreCase(secondExample)) {
console.printf("first is equal to second"); }

Hope it helps!! ISAIAH S :smirk:
