13,747 PointsIllustrator pencil shape seems to break when re-sized although grouped.
I have created the pencil shape as the tutorial and all the parts are grouped together and look as they should. However, when I copy the shape to the wire-frame folder and re-size it to fit, the eraser part of the pencil changes shape and becomes more of a circle, smaller than the other parts of the shape and looks wrong. I've re-watched the videos but can't see what I've done differently.
Can anyone point out what I've done wrong or what might be happening.
Thanks
Michelle Harrison
8,782 PointsI know this is old, but I'm currently taking this course and thought I would share the solution I found for anyone else in the future.
I'm using Illustrator CC and the same thing happened to me where the eraser would turn into a circle shape when shrunk. I found the solution on graphicdesign.stackexchange.com Select the pencil. Bring out the Transform window (Window ---> Transform). And check the "Scale Corners" and "Scale Strokes & Effects" check boxes.
Hope this helps :D

18,204 PointsThat happened to me too! The grey tip of the pencil is no longer aligned flush with the other triangle that makes the front end of the pencil :(
