21,058 PointsI really cant see any Mistake Could you Please check me VideoGamesController.cs(49,17): error CS1525: Unexpected symbol
Could you check where is the mistake
using System.Web.Mvc;
using Treehouse.Models;
namespace Treehouse.Controllers
{
public class VideoGamesController : Controller
{
public ActionResult Detail()
{
var videoGame= new VideoGame()
{
Title="Super Mario 64",
Description = "Super Mario 64 is a 1996 platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64.",
Characters = new Character[]
{
new Character() { Name = "Mario"},
new Character() { Name = "Princess Peach"},
new Character() { Name = "Bowser"},
new Character() { Name = "Toad"},
new Character() { Name = "Yoshi"},
};
};
return View(videoGame);
}
}
}
@model Treehouse.Models.VideoGame
@{
ViewBag.PageTitle = Models.DisplayText;
}
<h1>@Model.Title</h1>

28,558 PointsThe error comes from the semicolon that is placed after the Characters
object initializer:
Characters = new Character[]
{
new Character() { Name = "Mario"},
new Character() { Name = "Princess Peach"},
new Character() { Name = "Bowser"},
new Character() { Name = "Toad"},
new Character() { Name = "Yoshi"},
}; // <- This semicolon
The Characters
object initializer is nested within the videoGame
object initializer and semicolons are not allowed within object initializers.
If you remove that semicolon then that error will go away, but there is another issue with your code which is the fact that the Character
property is actually defined as a string
array within the VideoGame
class, not a Character
array. So you have to convert the array to a string array.
If you fix those two issues like this:
using System.Web.Mvc;
using Treehouse.Models;
namespace Treehouse.Controllers
{
public class VideoGamesController : Controller
{
public ActionResult Detail()
{
var videoGame= new VideoGame()
{
Title="Super Mario 64",
Description = "Super Mario 64 is a 1996 platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64.",
Characters = new string[]
{
"Mario",
"Princess Peach",
"Bowser",
"Toad",
"Yoshi"
}
};
return View(videoGame);
}
}
}
Then your code will pass the first task.
