I notice an inconsistency regarding the part in the video covering "rounded corner" and what I experience with Adobe Ill

Hey everyone,

When Mat covers the "rounded corner" effect, he says it's particularly useful because if you simply use the rounded rectangle tool, the corner radius will change if you expand the shape. Conversely, he says if you use the rounded corner effect, the corner radius will remain constant regardless of how much you expand it.

I experimented with this on Adobe Illustrator CC and found that with both the rounded rectangle tool, and the rounded corner effect, the corner radius of them both remained constant when I expanded the shape of the rectangle.

Why is this the case?

Is there something I'm missing - or is this because I have a newer version of Adobe Illustrator?

You're right, it is a new feature of Illustrator CC, I believe it is known as "Live Corners". In previous versions of Illustrator rounded corners would not remain consistent if you resized the rounded rectangle as demonstrated in the video, which is why the stylize effect is demonstrated as a substitute.
