I never really got a sense of full understanding on float and double and what they mean..

I didn't really understand.. could someone help explain.. because in the question floating point numbers are represented by what word i got it wrong everytime

A floating point number is any number that can have a decimal point (the floating point) in it. You should be able to figure out what types fit the description.
