I need to remove the repository I just created I entered rm -r /project_folder/.git but says its a fail

learning git and currently trying to do a challenge

What message did you actually get? I'm thinking you might have protected files in your .git/ directory, so maybe try rm -rf /project_folder/.git. The added -f flag means to force-remove.
