2,514 PointsI need help with findViewId() Code Challenge!
Hello All,
I'm having trouble here on this code challenge. I cannot seem to input the correct values to pass this challenge. I'm supposed to initialize the member variable exterminateButton using the findViewById() method. The ID for the button is 'button1'. I'm also supposed to cast the generic View returned by the method. Can someone please point out where I went wrong in this challenge?
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.view.View;
import android.widget.Button;
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
protected Button exterminateButton;
@Override
public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
// Declare our view variables
exterminateButton = (Button)findViewById(button1);
}
}
