I 'm the top first student in game development leaderboards but my position is 1218 why?

I 'm the top first student with more points in game development leaderboards and I must be at the top but my position is 1218. There are good student with 80.000 points that is actually impossible to achieve. Why this bug is not fixed? Is so simple to make the math and debug. This bug makes Treehouse less interesting.

The leaderboards have had this bug for over a year.

And it can place you either higher or lower than where you should be. For example, it says I am all-time #3 in Android, but my profile shows I actually have only 12 actual points in that category (I've never taken any Android courses).

:point_right: In addition to posting here, I strongly encourage you to enter a bug report on the Support page.

I've done so myself several times in the last year, but similar reports from other people can only help.

In some of the previous posts, the students have appealed to staff members like Jay Padzensky, Matt Spiel and Kara Proulx, but I'm guessing this issue still has not come the attention of the right person who can effectively escalate it sufficiently to get it done.

I'm not sure the staff sees the postings here in the forum. If so, this issue might have gotten resolved after one of these previous forum posts:

As of yesterday, the problem affecting the leaderboards appears to have been resolved. :tada:

I appreciate you taking the time to link to the other threads discussing this same issue. The truth of the matter is that we're very much aware and it's something we've been looking into, but the problem has been prioritization. Anytime an issue is reported, my team documents it and reports it to our engineers. We share as many stories and examples that we can find.

Kara, Jay and Matt are awesome, and they all do everything in their power to bring attention to any bugs or broken experiences that we and all of our amazing students discover. We always deliver this information to the right team and we will continue to do so.

I understand that you're frustrated, as well as others who have ran into this bug (and others, I'm sure), but please know that we read the forum every day, and while we may not respond to every single post, bug reports are being filed and notes are being taken.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Hi Rob Allessi,

It's good to see that this has come to the attention of yet another staffer. And I've been told several times already that this is a prioritization issue. That's why I say that I'm still hoping this will reach the attention of someone who both sets the priorities and also considers this issue to be important.

As a software developer myself, I'm used to automatic escalation of outstanding issues. And since the correct information is available in the profiles, it's also hard to imagine the resolution requiring more than an hour or two of a developer's time. So while I have no choice but to remain patient, the persistence of this issue became incomprehensible to me over 11 months ago.

So, if you're the person with the authority to set priorities, don't you feel it's time to escalate the priority and assign it? And if you are not, can you help get these 15 threads (plus the numerous letters to support) to that person's attention?

Hi Steven Parker

I'd like to preface this with a quick word that everyone who works at Treehouse deeply cares and believes every issue that negatively impacts any student's experience is important to resolve.

It's good to see that this has come to the attention of yet another staffer. And I've been told several times already that this is a prioritization issue. That's why I say that I'm still hoping this will reach the attention of someone who both sets the priorities and also considers this issue to be important.

The good news here is that this has reached the attention of those who set prioritisations the very first day it was ever reported. As the Customer Support Manager, it's my duty and pleasure to be documenting what you and all of our other students are saying about Treehouse, the good and the bad and sharing those details with the rest of Treehouse, so that we can better shape the service to meet our student's needs. These issues are always seen by our leaders and seen in great detail because of the efforts of our Support team and our students.

...it's also hard to imagine the resolution requiring more than an hour or two of a developer's time. So while I have no choice but to remain patient, the persistence of this issue became incomprehensible to me over 11 months ago.

Again, I fully understand the frustration — and very well may share an equal amount of frustration for any persisting oddities and bugs. Unfortunately, this specific issue has apparently been more complicated than it seemingly appears.

So, if you're the person with the authority to set priorities, don't you feel it's time to escalate the priority and assign it? And if you are not, can you help get these 15 threads (plus the numerous letters to support) to that person's attention

As previously mentioned, I've directed all of the attention and information possible on this issue to the individuals who are suited to resolve the issue — including our Director of Engineering Doug Darst and CPO Londa Quisling.

Clearly, you've stepped up and done what you can to move things along. And while we wait for the final work assignment to be made, you have elevated my expectations for a resolution in the near future. And please don't mistake my frustration for dissatisfaction — Treehouse continues to be one of my favorite learning resources of all time.

Thanks for this and all your efforts in behalf of the user community. It's good to know you're out there!

I agree. Actually I believe I'm supposed to be number 1, because both me and a few other students have more game development points.

However, your position in the leaderboard (for game dev) definally should be way higher...

Also, the person who's 5th place in the Game Development points leaderboard has only 2 game dev points...

Steven Parker thanks again for all of your feedback. I've been doing what I can in bringing attention to this matter, I'm not sure there is much more I can say in regards to it.

As we've both acknowledged, this is a big issue and as I've mentioned in my last several posts, it's being actively looked into. I'm hoping to see a fix on this soon. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Right, on January 18th, as I reported in my update. Did you just now notice?
