JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Creating Reusable Code with Functions Create a max() Function

I know I am entering something wrong in. Can somebody help me out?

I am suppose to compare the two, then return the answer. I think I got the return answer part, but to the actually comparing code.

script.js
function max( length, width){
var answer ('length > width' +'||' + 'length < width');
 return (answer);
}
max(14, 16);

Perhaps these hints will help:

  • never put quotes around variables or operator symbols, that converts them into string literals
  • to assign a value to variable use the "=" operator, parentheses are for passing arguments to functions
  • you'll only need one inequality comparison for this task
  • you'll need a conditional ("if") statement to control what the function does in different situations
  • you'll probably need two "return" statements, one controlled by the conditional

Give it another shot and see if you get it this time.
